
Gathering Guidelines
Gathering Committee:
- Get Facility.
- Set program, schedule and follow-up with participants. This will help keep
the gatherings consistent and fresh.
- E-mail copy of the schedule to all participants.
Host Church
- Set up for food
- Provide area to host a meal/refreshment for about 50 - 100 people
- Provide tables and chairs for the Emmaus Community to be able to sit down
- Decorating the tables in the colorful Emmaus style is optional.
- Provide paper goods (cups, plates, napkins, forks, etc.)
- Provide drinks (tea, lemonade, coffee)
- Provide sound, projector and screen.
- Get 4th Day Speaker.
- Provide communion elements (bread and wine) and set up
alter for communion.
- Arrange for childcare during the service.
- Arrange for offering, childcare is deducted and the
balance is split between hosts church and the BV community.
- Work with Community Music Director to arrange for music
team.
Community Lay Director or Appointee
- A member of the Brazos Valley Emmaus Community Board will do
the welcome, board report and announcements.
- Announcements should only be made if they are of concern to
the whole community.
Community Spiritual Director or Appointee
- Be present with the BV Community communion cup and plate,
or assign some to bring them.
- Communion will be done by intinction.
- Respond to 4th Day Speaker.
- Preside over the communion service.
Community Music Director or Appointee
- Assist the Host church in arranging a music team, or arrange for music team.
Community Reunion Group/4th Day Director or Appointee
- Pick topic, have community divide into small groups and discuss topic.
Community Training Director or Appointee
- Provide training segment, not more than 10 minutes, for Brazos Valley Emmaus
Community each gathering.
Meal
- The meal is a Pot Luck and the community brings covered dishes to share.
